Finnieston Free Church renamed Kelvingrove Parish Church (now converted to flats):
Located to the south of Kelvingrove Park this former church was designed by architect James Sellars with a building date of 1880. The church has a classical frontage with a tetrastyle (four ionic columns) portico with an unadorned pediment on top of the columns. Above the facade a large stone lantern with corinthian columns and a lead covered dome is centrally sited. The side (south) elevation to Bentinck Street is symmetrical with a central ground floor doorway flanked by two individual windows and a pair of windows to each side of the doorway. On the first floor five window bays are centrally sited and flanked by pilasters, then an individual window bay to the east and west of this central five windowed feature. The individual small windows to the east and west each have a pediment above. The west end has a curved flat roofed apse and then steps down to a single ground floor storey which meets the tenement to the west. The north elevation is onto Parkgrove Terrace Lane and has the same window layout as the south but instead of smooth dressed stone (ashlar) as on the other elevations, here the less public elevation is of the same stone, but with a plain rough finish.
The building is overall in very good exterior condition, and the fine carvings are still detailed and in very good condition, there are some stone minor repairs mainly on the front (illustrated in the photographs below) which may be inappropriate if they affect the natural cycle of water travelling through the stone as it wets and dries. There is also some stone damage at the end of the south elevation above the doorway (illustrated in the photographs below) where the building steps down to meet the tenement. Here the stone surface has 'blown off' this maybe due to water ingress from the portion of flat roof above though this cannot be properly assessed without proper examination. The is category A listed.

at the back of the portico high up can be seen what appears to be render applied to the stone to bring the surface back to the original plane of the building surface. If this render inhibits the natural flow of water through the porous stone then the water will instead have to seek egress through the stone below causing it to deteriorate faster as the water load on it is increased.
